Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026 (template)
Welcome to BoardPrep. These terms explain what you can expect from us and what we expect from you while you use the service at boardprep.guru ("BoardPrep" or "the service"). If you don’t agree with any part of these terms, don’t use the service.
1. Who we are
BoardPrep is operated by the company behind boardprep.guru ("we", "us"). You can reach us any time at support@boardprep.guru.
2. Your account
You need an account to use most of BoardPrep. Accounts are personal — don’t share your login. You must be at least 13 years old; we don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13 (see our Privacy Policy).
You’re responsible for keeping your password and any connected devices secure. Tell us right away if you suspect someone else is using your account.
3. Subscriptions and billing
BoardPrep is a paid service with a free 15-question preview for unauthenticated visitors and a 7-day full-access trial for new accounts (card on file required). Pricing is $19.99/month regular, or $9.99/month for the first 100 subscribers (locked at that rate for as long as the subscription stays active). Billing is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
You’ll be charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel first. Cancellations stop future charges immediately; they don’t refund the current billing period automatically. For refund eligibility, see our Refunds page.
4. Acceptable use
You may use BoardPrep to study for board exams. You may not:
- Scrape, bulk-download, resell, or redistribute our question banks, chapters, explanations, or verification data.
- Automate requests beyond normal study use (no scripts, bots, or headless browsers).
- Share your account with other people or pass credentials to a study group.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer the grounded AI chatbot prompts or extract the underlying corpus.
- Use BoardPrep to generate derivative question banks for commercial resale.
5. Content and intellectual property
All questions, explanations, illustrations, chapter summaries, verification data, and UI copy on BoardPrep are owned or licensed by us. You get a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial license to use them for your own exam prep. You don’t get ownership of the underlying material.
Answers you submit, notes you take, and chatbot conversations you have stay yours. You grant us permission to process them internally to operate the service (generate your dashboard, rate-limit your chatbot, invoice your subscription).
6. AI features
BoardPrep uses two AI systems:
- Pre-publication verification: a third-party medical-domain AI model rates each question accurate, ambiguous, or incorrect before it ships. Incorrect questions don’t ship; ambiguous ones are reviewed by a human before publication.
- Grounded chatbot: answers are retrieved from your current exam’s corpus. The chatbot may still make mistakes — treat it as a study partner, not a clinical authority.
Nothing on BoardPrep is medical advice. Don’t use the service to make decisions about patient care.
7. Termination
You can cancel your subscription or delete your account any time from the billing portal or by emailing support@boardprep.guru. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, particularly in cases of bulk scraping or account sharing.
8. Disclaimer of warranty
BoardPrep is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind beyond what’s required by applicable law. We don’t guarantee that studying here will earn you a particular exam score, nor that the service will always be available or bug-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of BoardPrep is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are emailed to the address on file at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Disputes are handled in state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
